Faith-Based Conferences & College Using Social Media

On the weekend of July 15th there will be a conference held for women of faith in California. The conference, Women Disciplining Women, teaches women to apply the gospel concretely in every area of life. Founded on the authority and sufficiency of God’s Word, every conference session highlights the issues that drive our thoughts, attitudes and behaviors and will get to the heart of what it means to find and implement gospel truth through life’s trials. There is also a Men Disciplining Men conference taking place the next weekend in July. Each conference is geared toward equipping men and women to minister using God’s word.

People are currently using Facebook Events to invite guests and figure out who is attending. Members are able to see the attendees and get to know each other before the conference starts. Here is an example of the womens’ conference page and here is the mens.

The conferences are put on by The Master’s College for Christ and Scripture. They offer a variety of degrees ranging from the typical, like accounting, to very specific. One degree the college offers that is related to the conference is a master’s in biblical counseling. This college is a great example of how to use social media on your webpage. Toward the bottom of the page they have Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, and RSS links.
