Family Focus Friday: 9 Social Media Sites For Kids Part 1

Those days are long gone. Social media has expanded to be kid friendly. I do not mean the major networks like Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube. Rather kid versions created for different age groups who want to go online and have fun.

There are now many sites that are created specifically for kids. All inappropriate content has been removed and you can rest assured knowing your child is safer online. There are tons of educational sites for children to hop on and start learning. Examples are: PlayKidsGames, FunBrain, and E-LearningforKids. However, none of these sites allow for kids to hang out with other kids online.

This is where social media for kids comes in. In this series we will be exploring 9 social media sites made just for kids. There will be a basic explanation of each one, along with the potential benefits for your children.

The social media sites include: KIDO’Z, Glubble, Whyville, KidsTube, KidZui, Webkinz, Handipoints, KidzClix, and Club Penguin.
